The Healthy Food For All Initiative aims to ensure that food poverty remains a priority issue on the political agenda. The prevention of food poverty requires alleviation of both socio-economic inequalities and the reasons for socioeconomic variations in dietary behaviour. This requires that critical public policies are co-ordinated across all departments, including economics, nutrition, agri-business, welfare, education and health.
HFfA aim to highlight the issues by:
making relevant policy submissions to government departments
lobbying the government to ensure policies do not impact on an individual's ability to obtain an affordable and nutritious diet
making the connections between local action and national policy
